Special Ganesha Homa for end of year exams
This October 2013 Sunday Ganesha Homa dedicated to those school and University students taking their end of year exams drew thousands of devotees to the Spiritual Park. Youth were already seated inside the Mandapam early morning and our sishyas and volunteers were each busy taken up in the various usual areas of activities on these Sunday Homas. on the eve a few volunteers were there to bathe and dress the murthis, set up tents, decorate the Mandapam and install the temporary railings.
The puja an elaborate one, performed by Sivacharya Devakumar consisted of several rituals at the Siva Dakshina Mandapam to the main Ganesha Mandapam where an elaborate Homa was performed enhanced by beautiful bajans and traditional nageswaram.
Every sishya gave their best on that day. Kulapati Manon and kulamata sat in the main puja, Kulapati Koothan who welcomed everyone talked about the aim of that Student Prayer, followed by Kulapati Manon who read the message of Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami. Kulapati SK Moorghen gave an update of the fund raising progress for the Ganesha Mandapam extension project and Kulapati Manick talked about Hinduism Today subscription while quoting from an article by an American youth in the last HT edition. We received several written inspiring testimonies from devotees that due to limited time that day, we would read and share in our next November Homa.
on the whole it was a very uplifting ceremony. All the teams set up on that day ranging from attending to devotees offerings in the various shrines, packing and distributing prasadam, distributing stationery pouch gifts to students, selling Hinduism Today subscriptions, and cleaning up after the ceremony, all these sevakars deserve our humble appreciation.
We share a few photos with you… Aum.
