Orientation at Maha Siva Soopramaniar Sangam Kovil - Curepipe
We had a nice welcome at the Maha Siva Soopramaniar Sangam Kovil. It is a small temple built on the steep ground of the Trou aux Cerfs volcano in the town of Curepipe situated on the upper grounds of the island. Everyone gathered inside the small temple mandapam and attentively listened to our Paramparas teachings. A new priest from Chennai just employed by the temple conducted a nice puja chanting mantras both in sanskrit and tamil. Kulapati Siven Koothan welcomed everyone present and stressed on the importance of saivite religious knowledge. Kulapati Rajen Manick conducted the orientation with an animated slide show on our 12 saivite beliefs and explained basic religious concepts with practical examples on Karma, reincarnation, the three worlds etc... We had Natchintanai integrated in between the slide presentation. At the end we had a short guided Pancha Siva Chaitanya meditation.
The President of the Temple, Mr. Sadasiven Ramasawmy showed his appreciation for our presentation and invited us to come again at the Temple in future. We were then invited to share dinner with the temple devotees and we had the opportunity to chat with other members and devotees of the temple management. Everyone agreed that religious education was a very important thing to keep the youth involved in Temple activities.
We share a few photos with you.... Aum.
